What is Pollergen?

Louvolite is a leading supplier of quality window blind products and this year they have introduced a new and unique treatment called Pollergen that can help with hay fever relief by acting as a barrier against pollen. A deployed blind made with Pollergen-treated fabric can significantly reduce the amount of active pollen entering the home.

Independent testing by the National Pollen and Aerobiology Research unit has concluded that a Pollergen-treated fabric shows over 50% reduction in grass pollen allergen when compared to an untreated control fabric. 

Pollen, by its very nature is tacky and will stick to any surface it comes into contact with. Pollergen helps to increase this capture rate by the inclusion of a tackifier within its formula.

Once captured, the unique pollergen formulation will denature up to 50% of the grass pollen- essentially it kills the active element rendering the affected pollen absolutely harmless to sufferers.

What blinds can I have?

As vertical blinds are normally always in the fully deployed position but angled to allow light control – rather than just up or down like a roller or pleated blind – there is an argument to state that the humble vertical blind could be more effective in Pollen capture and subsequent denaturing than other fabric blind types but the choice is entirely yours.

It gets better..All Pollergen treated fabrics can be washed or wiped down as the active formula continuously migrates to the surface of the fabric for continued protection and will continue to do so for the expected lifespan of the blinds.
